Fernlea Veterinary Clinics
In most circumstances we recommend that all pets are brought to the surgery
In most circumstances we recommend that all pets are brought to the surgery where we have all the facilities and equipment to deal with any medical or surgical eventuality. However, in some cases, a home visit may be appropriate and this can be arranged by telephoning our clinics.
Home visits for euthanasia
Some clients feel that when the time has come for their beloved pet to be euthanased they would prefer a house visit. This can be organised by prior arrangement. Please feel free to speak to any of the nurses beforehand if you have any questions regarding what happens at the time, and any arrangements you may wish to make for burial or cremation. This can be done on an individual basis with ashes returned to you in a casket.
It is only natural to grieve over the loss of a pet and if you feel you need further support, we have trained staff that can offer specialised help and advice.
It is always a sad and anxious time when your pet dies or needs to be put to sleep. We realise this is distressing for all those involved and we endeavour to offer as much support as possible.
